Entry 1

Introduction

A few weeks ago, I emailed coach:

I had a thought when texting with Murphy a couple weeks ago.   How do you feel about writing?   I've been searching for new material, new books, new blogs, anything to assist or to share, to help more people level up their own lives.... and I believe you hold a good handful of keys inside.  The guys in the locker rooms, if we were smart enough to pay close attention at 16-17-18 years old, got to see and hold a few of these keys.... but if you're not coaching, these keys might be collecting some dust.  Plus they're not just for young men.  I know PLENTY of adults who could still use a good shot of what you deliver (I am one of them).
How do you feel about publishing some weekly or bi-weekly thoughts in a blog?  Does Not have to be any sort of "tips for life," or anything too rigid in design, but just a quick, semi-random nugget of info to post, share and last forever.  Could be sharing some old stories from the field and how they relate to life, could be observations of the world, could be anything.  Just as you would speak, it would appear here.
I know all the guys would love this.

He said yes and here is the first post.  I am very excited to get him going and build a fun, useful and helpful series of entries.

There is nothing like the fall in the CVC.  At the end of each football season I always had to do an end of the season report on the football season.   Every year one of my recommendations was to schedule a Saturday afternoon game the second last weekend of the season so that we can take in the breathtaking beauty of travelling to  the CVC schools on a bus.

On one of the bus rides to a game in the 94 season someone was complaining about one of the bus rides and I mentioned "one day you will appreciate these rides."  I think in this day and age of COVID we can and should appreciate everything.   Memories of bus rides with your teammates, the change in seasons, your relationships with your teammates, your parents, your families, should all be appreciated even more now and I hope they are.   Everybody stay safe and be smart.
